This hat and scarf ensemble from boden caught my eye when I was flipping through the new catalogue this weekend, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since. Even though chilly winter days seem a million miles a way, I would love to have a cute hat and scarf like this to cozy up with once the temperatures drop. Maybe I will have to have Joan (Dan's mom is an amazing knitter) help me figure out how to do the hat.

I am so in love with this movie! I have had the music stuck in my head for the last couple of days and I seriously want to go see it again, I laughed so hard and I seriously wanted to sing along to every word! I am jamming to the music on my i-tunes as i write this! I was especially impressed with the star of the show, Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad! She was so adorable and frumpy and endlessy hopeful! Rumor has it they discovered her scooping ice cream at coldstone! I guess dreams really can come true! She was so fabulous and real! I definitely recommend you run to theatre near you to check it out! Did I mention I have a huge crush on James Marsden (The Notebook) and Zack Efron (High School Musical)! Sorry Dan, but guys who can sing just melt my heart!
Here was the table, While I was thinking about how to decorate the tables, I had this idea to puts different types of candy in pots with little sayings for each type of candy. Hot tamales to keep the spice in their marriage, Sweet tarts to keep them sweet, Smarties so they make smart decisions, etc. I think it turned out pretty cute !
It was fun to have our pal Chelsea come hang out with us!
Here is Molly, Lynsie and Camilla. Lynsie had just gotten back from California because her family was on Family fued and they were filming! So far they have won over $ 20,000
Erika, Myself and Missy! Erika was so calm and excited! I have never seen a more stress free bride!
Me and Molly! It was so fun to see her! I cannot believe she is going to be a mom in a couple of months!
Erika and Caitlin with our beautiful bra shaped brownies! It was a bachelorette party after all!

I am totally falling in love with the fall collection at J. Crew! There are already too many things I have to have! Bad news! They just posted their new arrivals for August and the fall preview today, so go take a look! We were doing visuals last night, so I saw some of the new stuff in person and it is too die for! Too bad it is still 90 degrees outside!

my heart skipped a beat when I saw this shirt on the urban outfitters website . It is $38 and comes in 6 different colors! I love the ruffle at the collar and the sleeve, the sash at the waist, and for the price, I just might be able to afford two! Now, if only I could decide which color!

My mind is still spinning a bit with all the details of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. All in all I have to say that the book lived up to all of my expectations, and although finishing it left me a little sad there is no more left to read, I was really satisfied with the ending. It sort of left me with a tear in my eye, but a smile on my face. I loved it.
I was especially excited when I found these Gryffindor socks from crewcuts. I definitely think I would have been in Gryffindor house if I attended Hogwarts!
This is actually my one hundredth post, and with that I thought I would turn the subject to $100 dollars. Every week in Primary, we have a kid that is essentially our V.I.P of the week. To guess who this special VIP is we read answers off of a questionnaire we had all the kids fill out with their parents. My favorite question is, what would you do if you had $100 dollars? I love this because I love hearing what the kids come up with. I think we have heard everything from use it to buy toys and candy, to save it for college. One of my favorite answers was "use it to buy a puppy or a car".If only life were so cheap, and simple! But this question always gets me to thinking what I would do if I had an extra $100 lying around.
Here are some ideas...
I have been craving these Tory Burch flats for a while now, but it would take two Benjamin Franklin's to cover these pricey shoes.
I might spring for dinner at a pricey restaurant, lately I've been wanting to go to Balthazar!
Being obsessed with stationary and paper products I would love to get my hands on some customized stationary from iomoi!
or perhaps, I would do what Dan and I usually do with our extra money, and put it toward a little trip somewhere fun, after all extra money always helps when you are on vacation.
Regardless, it is always fun to have a little extra cash, and unfortunately, I was never one of those kids who would choose to put it in the bank. I always to have more ideas of how to spend my money, than money I have to spend, which leaves me curious to know, what would you do with an extra $100 dollars?

Elated at the fact that we actually had a sunny and warm Saturday, we headed to the beach last weekend with our friends Jeremy and Amy, and their little boy Liam to celebrate! We have been hearing about Sandy Hook beach for the last couple of weeks, and decided to check it out. Sandy Hook is in New Jersey and is a national protected shore which basically means it is a national park so most of the peninsula is undeveloped. It used to be an old army base so there are all of these charming old officers homes and other buildings in the area. We had a great day exploring, playing in the water and soaking up the sun. We took a ferry from lower Manhattan that went right past the statue of liberty, under the Verrazano bridge, and straight to Sandy Hook.
This is the shoreline where you come in off the ferry
You can see some of the old officers houses here
I love the houses in this picture! By the time we left, Dan and Jeremy were trying to figure out how they could convert Sandy Hook into a summer resort, they didn't seem to care that is was a national park.
Dan is pretty much in love with Liam and wants to adopt him!
To make a long story short, the beach we went to was adjoining the nude beach, which I later found out is the largest nude beach on the Atlantic coast (thanks to wikipedia). Anyway, We thought this sign was pretty funny, and despite what this picture may lead you to believe, Dan and Jeremy are not naked, but they would like to think they were brave enough to be!
This last picture is actually from another day at Jones beach a couple of weeks ago, but since I meant to put it on the blog a couple of weeks ago, thought I might as well include it with this post.
This is my first blog, so don't laugh. I wasn't planning on saving my first post for Romney, but it has just worked that way. A little while back Mitt came to the Big Apple to raise some money and one of the events was for young professionals, which I got somehow invited to. It was a fun atmosphere with lots young people hobnobbing, drinks flowing, and a local band playing (Highbench, look them up.) Then Mitt came and gave a rousing speech. He sounded like a president and looks more like a president than any president ever. All in all it was fun night. I didn't write any fat checks to the campaign because I figured that Brother Romney would rather have me pay my tithing than pay him.
As for my political views I feel I am fairly open to both parties. At this point I support Romney. He is sharp, intelligent, and likeable. I love his background. He did an amazing job in business. He was successful with the olympics and did a great job in Massachusetts as governor. I dislike the money and time that is going into this presidential election, both are excessive. I feel like a bunch of the candidates don't have a platform yet, except clamoring to their parties. So we will see where my political views move as the the process moves forward.

Happy Birthday Will! Dan and I were just talking today about how much we love this kid and his sweet personality! I have a special place in my heart for Willie probably because he is the baby and I have always felt protective of him. He has come a long way since his toddler days of wild willie (who was constantly in time-out because of his stubbornness)! Will has grown into such a babe and we can hardly believe he is seventeen!
And my other new obsession, Pink Berry. Never been a big fan of Frozen Yogurt but this stuff is pretty dang good, and since we live so close to one, it is hard for me not to pop in when I walk by! As of now, Pink Berry is only in California and New York, but if you have the opportunity to try, don't pass it up!

I am loving the little taste of fall fashions we have been getting, and some of my favorites have come from a store I had almost written off, The Gap! I am especially in love with the suede ballet flats for only $38!
And this post wouldn't be complete without mentioning some of the new stuff at J. Crew. I have to say I was somewhat disappointed but there were some new pieces I might not be able to live without....A cute fall trench, a cardigan in a great fall color, and yet another pair of suede flats!
