The Cradle of Liberty!!!

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Philadelphia. I love history and I especially love historical places. That is what is so amazing about a place like Philadelphia is the sense of nostalgia you feel walking along streets where history was actually lived and made. We had a short visit there but made the most of every minute, and took lots of pictures. Becky and Robb were in town for the AAE (American Association of Endodontics) convention and we came over from NY to see them and spend a couple of days in Philadelphia.

Of course we saw all the historical sights, we actually went on this cool tour called the lights of liberty and we visited the Betsy Ross house which was one of my favorite things! One of the coolest things I discovered was this crazy building/gallery called the Magic garden on South Street. I have honestly never seen anything like this! The artist basically turned this whole building and the adjoining garden into a giant mosaic/sculpture. It was weird but cool and definitely worth seeing if you head to Philadelphia! We also found these amazing historical brownstones on Pine street and they were so neat. Some of them date back over 200-250 years and were constructed during the time of the american revolution! Amazing!

While we were there we ate at really cool restaurant called El Vez which was this amazing gourmet mexican place that had one of those vintage photo booths inside of it, Dan and I couldn't resist taking pictures! We also loved the Reading Terminal and walking around in old city. But the best part had to be the Anthropologie Flagship Store! It is a four floor mansion on Rittenhouse square (where all the good shopping is!) That Anthropologie has restored. It was honestly so cool and because it was four floors, it had alot more merchandise than the typical Anthro store. the building itself was really amazing and worth the visit all by itself!
We also got the chance to visit with some family friends who live in Philly, Rob and Chelsea Wood. He is back there in Dental School at Temple and they have two of the cutest kids around, Robbie and Elle. Robbie just fell in love with Dan and couldn't get enough of him! We had a blast and it was fun to spend some time with family exploring the city!
