Designing Dilemma

For the last month this ugly chair has been sitting in our front room getting sideways glances from every guest that has walked through the door. I rescued her from street cleanup one night when Dan and I were walking home from dinner. I know this chair is a sight for sore eyes right now, but I definitely saw some hidden potential with the right upholstery, and I thought it could be a fun project to tackle.

I have been continuously searching online and in some local shops for just the right fabric, but I haven't been able to decide on anything. Here's where you come in-I WANT YOUR OPINION!

That means all of you-even those of you lurking around and not making comments, I would love to hear every one's opinion on which fabric you think would bring this antique beauty back to life.

I've picked out a few I really like for you to consider below, but if you find anything else fabulous, feel free to suggest it as well! I definitely look forward to hearing from you!

Click on the fabrics for links to purchase, the great thing is these are all really affordable!

I like the second one or the green one... looks like a fun project- good luck and I can't wait to see the finished product.

I am loving the green one.

Caitlin,
The damask fabric (4th down) named "Enchantment" is my favorite. It has the enduring look of a clasic pattern and its pattern would match the wood carved motif at the bottom of the chair.
Let us know which one you choose.
Love,
Auntie Val

I love Enchantment but, then again, my tastes lean towards classic. :)

that new green one is really great - my new fave

I say 1 or 4. Looks like 4 is a bit more popular, but I love the color of the first one, too.

Which green one girls?
the one with the criss cross pattern or the lime green?

Hi, I thought I would stop lurking and throw in a comment, I hear about you from Camilla and Molly, and I think you probably know my husband so hopefully this is not way creepy! I really like the 2nd, 4th and 5th one, not that that helps narrow it down much! Great fabrics though!

Caitin,

Hi. Martha Fetzer, here. I'm sure my opinion is the last one you'd want. Ever since Dan sent the link, I visit your blog often. I love all of your great ideas/ fun posts. As far as the chair goes: I'm all for "Florian," and then a pillow (or two) out of the green lattice, or vice-versa (how do you spell that?). It's almost 2 am here in SLC and I've been up working on a design project way too late. My eyes may be fooling me! So, knowing that, take my opinion for what it's worth. Fun chair. Fun project. Good luck!

I feel like 4 or 5 go with the chair style the best, but I LOVE 1.
