another reason to love
Kate Spade. Has anyone seen their new ad campaign in this months Vogue? Two words, soapbox derby! I am so in love and once again marveling at the creativity of all those people over at Kate Spade who sit around and come up with these fabulous ideas! Maybe it struck a chord because all the darling boy scouts in our ward are getting hyped up for the pinewood derby this week but I thought this whole concept was pretty clever.

This fabric is screaming summer which makes me really happy. I just love the colors! it almost looks like this is where J. Crew drew the inspiration for the colors of their spring collection. The only problem, I cannot for the life of me remember which fabric website I found it on. I'll try to track it down only because it will drive me nuts unless I figure it out! I'll keep you posted...
in love
The only part of my wedding that didn't turn out the way I wanted was my cake. It wasn't a disaster I think they just sort missed on the whole style of what I really wanted. Anyhow, if I could do it all over again, I think you could plan a whole wedding around this beauty of a cake. It is so pretty I wouldn't even want to eat it!
jelly beans
Here's a cute and affordable little Easter treat for to give as a thank you or just to celebrate the holiday. I purchased these miniature mason jars at Michaels crafts for only $1 each and filled them with delicious starburst and jolly rancher jelly beans for a sweet little treat! The jelly beans are on sale right now at target along with all their other Easter candy, in case you need to get some stuff together for your baskets.
Aloha
We're off to Hawaii on a family vacation tomorrow so don't miss us too much! I'm going to to try and post some goodies tonight just so my blog doesn't get too boring while we're gone. Happy Easter everyone, hope wherever you are you are enjoying sunny spring weather and not the dreary rain we're having right now in New York.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's day everyone. I both love and hate this holiday and here is why...
I love St. Patrick's day because:
As a child I had a true belief in leprechauns. Perhaps this stems from watching the classic movie Darby O'gill and the little people (kids ages 6-10 will love it) but I really truly did believe. Every year on St. Patrick's eve I would take my doll dishes and furniture, and set out little meals for the leprechauns to eat when they came to visit my house and leave me a present. By my calculations their favorite foods were fruit roll ups and water and I would meticulously cut up the fruit roll up into little bits so it could fit in their mouths. Well needless to say, the year I stopped believing in leprechauns was a sad day, but I still found joy in the green meals we would have (green milk, green bread, etc>) and all green lunches, which meant we usually got sprite to drink. Needless to say for an obscure holiday it can be pretty fun to celebrate.
I hate St. Patrick's Day because:
Even though I have worn green every St. Patrick's day of my life, every year there was some dork in elementary school and well through high school that thought it was funny to pinch you anyway. Let's just say I hate being pinched and to this day I still get annoyed when I think about those pinchers, however, if you are my friend and we one of them, I now forgive you. Anyhow, I'm sporting my green today, but if you see me, don't you dare try to pinch me!

on the prowl
Yes we are over the moon about our baby boy! But determined to maintain a well rounded identity I've made myself promise to continue to post about things other that the joy that is to be. That being said, I had to share a great tip about a company I found a while back that has continued to pop up under my eyes with some adorable products.
Last fall when I attended the Domino Design Bazaar, I purchased one item, and black and white graphic print umbrealla from a company I had never heard of, Toss designs. I mostly loved the print which was somewhere between Kelly Wearstler and J. Crew. Anyhow, this umbrella has turned out to be the best umbrells I have ever owned! It never leaks, it opens and closes easily and it covers me just the right amount when it rains. I now get it excited about the rain because it means my cute umbrella gets to come out of hiding.
Well, I just checked their website and spring inventory after I read about a %20 coupon when entering WOMDAY at check out. I am dying over their cute luggage/travel bags. Go check it out, you just might find a great gift for someone, or for yourself!

Nursery decor
Tomorrow is the big day when we find out if were having a little super hero or a little princess! Of course we can't wait and I'll be sure to post it on the blog for any of you that care to know! Although our little babe will not have a fully dedicated room in our NY apartment, that hasn't stopped me from thinking about how I would decorate a nursery for either one. Because of space issues our little one will probably have an edited version of either of these inspriation boards pictured above, in the corner of our bedroom, but either way, hopefully it will still turn out adorable!

favorite things
I don't know if I've ever mentioned my love and attachment to pussy willows. When I was a little girl, my grandmother had pussy willows growing in her backyard. I remember picking off the fuzzy little pods and rolling them between my finger for what seemed like hours. I was always so curious about how a plant could grow fur.
Pussy Willows are a great option for spring decorating because they are cheap, simple and understated but can add a rustic feeling when mixed with any other spring flowers. I've been spotting pussy willows all around the neighborhood flower markets in the last week which can only mean one thing-use them to spruce up your home for Easter!
A vase of pussy willows would look adorable with some hollowed out eggs hanging as ornaments from the branches (you can find store bought ones for this purpose at many craft and home decor stores) or if you are feeling really crafty, try making these nests courtesy of Martha.

steals and deals
I've sung praises about the awesome home finds at J.C. Penney before, but I had to share some of the recent bargains I came across.
Jayden storage cabinet, if they still had this in stock in the white, I wouldn't have been able to resist!
Eric Wall Lamp. These are such a steal and they plug in so they are a great option for rentals. Pottery Barn maes and identical twin for three times the price!
Erika Wall Mirror
I am loving the shape of this! It is so exotic and sophisticated.
Honeycomb wool rug
I love the pattern and simplicity of these and it comes in a lot of great colors.

hang it up
I love the architectural details of this jewelry stand from Urban Outfitters. Besides being used to hang your jewelry a couple of these could look really cool just arranged on a shelf, and I am sure all you creative people could think of some other uses too!
